A FAMILY TRADITION SINCE 1939
When McCann Realtors was established in 1939, founders Charles and Mary McCann could not have envisioned the growth that would occur in the coming decades both in the company and at home.
In the years following the Great Depression and his service in the United States Coast Guard in WW II, Charles worked hard to grow the fledgling business, while at home he and Mary, raised twelve children. Whether at work or at home, they were guided by the same set of deeply rooted values, including a commitment to excellence, loyalty and respect for others and a strong sense of community responsibility.
These core beliefs provided the framework upon which McCann Realtors was built - beliefs that still permeate the business and the family today. Over the years, three generations and fifteen family members have worked for the company in various capacities, making McCann Realtors truly a family business.
In 1990, brothers Joe and John purchased the company from their father. In doing so, Joe, a custom builder and expert craftsman since 1971 and John, a 1984 graduate of LaSalle University and owner of one of the area’s largest appraisal firms, brought together three companies with one focus — providing the highest quality service to their customers and clients.

As a catcher for the Philadelphia Athletics, young Charles McCann was a hard-working leader on the field — a philosophy upon which he built a successful business and raised a large, close-knit family. It is a work ethic and legacy that endures today. It is the McCann difference.
